Man divides opinion after putting dog filter over wife’s face while she's in labour

"POV: you're in labor and think your husband is getting sentimental footage for you to look back on"

A man has divided opinion after using a dog filter over his wife's face while she was in labour.

Giving birth is one of the most monumental moments of a parent's life, and so it's understandable that some people want to document it.

But when Sarah Griffith asked her husband to do so, this wasn't quite what she was expecting.

Check it out:

In the undeniably hilarious clip, she can be seen in her hospital bed writhing around in pain - but in place of her face is the head of a chihuahua.

Sharing the clip on TikTok, Sarah wrote: "POV: you're in labor and think your husband is getting sentimental footage for you to look back on."

She added as the caption: "In his defense, this is our favorite snapchat filter."

We're not going to lie, the doggo's distressed expression seems to match the moment perfectly. But not everyone online saw the funny side.

Taking to the comments section of the post, which has earned more than 1.2 million views, one person wrote: "The way I would walk mid contraction to my lawyer's office for divorce papers."

Another said, "Noooo," alongside crying emojis, although Sarah chipped in to say: "I mean I basically looked like this anyway so he was doing me a favour."

"I see these videos and it makes me so grateful to be with someone who’s not like that," added a third. "Hope the baby turns out cute at least."

People were divided over the prank.

While a fourth simply wrote: "I would be so mad lmao."

To be fair, there is no pain quite like that of giving birth.

But it seems Sarah found the whole thing funny, as did plenty of other TikTokers, with one writing: "That’s something my man would do just to make me smile."

The new mum responded: "Definitely made me smile."

"This is hilarious," said another, while a third added: "This is the only footage I would want."

And then there were those who faced similar pranks, including this person who said: "My husband did the bald filter."

"My husband did the same exact thing when we were out on a date," said a second. "I thought he was being all cute and he posted it on his story."

For more of the same, a new dad went viral on TikTok last summer after watching his wife give birth to their child made him a little weak in the knees.

After setting up a camera to record his daughter's birth, Kaden Baudistel fell unexpectedly faint when it came time to help his wife Danielle Foord through the painful delivery.

After welcoming their daughter, Danielle shared the hysterical moment on TikTok, writing: "Not my husband gagging as I'm pushing out our daughter... then sits down at the end as if he needs a break."

Bless him.
