Apple users have been issued a serious warning over an absolutely mortifying iPhone 'glitch' which could expose what you’ve really been searching for online.

Now, I'm sure many of us have searched things from time to time that we'd probably rather no one else saw - from Googling awkward medical queries and checking the spelling of a super common word, it's clear we've all been there.

It's not always as innocent as that, however, with many searching adult content on various browsing platforms which - they'd hope - would remain top secret.

However, this is apparently far from the case as many iPhone users have reported a very unsettling 'glitch' that exposes their browser history.

Some people have reported that the likes of Chrome, Safari and Firefox have a seriously awkward habit of flashing up old images from websites you’ve once visited - yep those websites.

And the worst part?

Apparently, the technical 'glitch' can crop up pretty much randomly as it's virtually impossible to predict when it'll occur.

This happened to one Reddit user who opened up about being left extremely embarrassed after his iPhone randomly displayed a bunch of pornographic images at the worst of times.

Posting a few years back, they begged: "When I switch apps (by swiping up), if chrome is open it will show that I’m on a porn site! How do I stop this from happening?

"I am not on a porn site. When I watch porn, I always watch porn on incognito mode and delete the window immediately after. I watch it at most 2x per week. But usually it’s like once every month."

They added: "Twice now people have been looking over my shoulder as I am showing them something and this has happened!!!! (My mum was one of them)."

Now, that Reddit post in particular dates back over two years. However, just in September, another iPhone user commented on it - highlighting that the issue is very much so still alive and kicking.

While the post dates back two years, another user has commented on it as recently as two months ago, suggesting this glitch continues to impact iPhone owners to this day.

They wrote: "I know this is an old post, but I want to confirm it's still an issue. I have a fairly new iPhone and this is happening. Old porn vid stuck in Firefox preview mode, only happens in landscape though."

Claiming that nothing they did would get rid of it, the Redditer explained: "The only way I found to fix was uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, which I did today. Problem solved."

They noted that this issue has happened to them 'over several phones' for 'years' now, declaring: "It's a problem that has potential to lead to very inappropriate things. Imagine kid using your phone or showing them something on your phone..."

The Redditer urged Apple to 'please fix this', resolving: "It's been an issue for years, and is not a complex issue that would require a team of engineers."

Tyla has reached out to Apple for comment.
