I went to bottomless brunch and Kylie Jenner's new drink might have saved me

The two words that send me into a quiet spiral: bottomless brunch.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a girly weekend activity and the sun has been out in full force, so it was the perfect setting to get stuck into a day session of margarita cocktails.

What I didn’t foresee was, despite hours of drinking, that it would be Kylie Jenner’s new drink that would save my entire weekend from being wasted on a hangover.

There’s never any way to know just how lethal bottomless brunch will be, and with the feral energy in the air thanks to the UK heatwave, let’s just say things started out well.

I always try to drink water and eat a good meal before any alcohol, but doing a morning hot yoga class and rushing around probably wasn’t the best idea.

I needed to boost my hydration levels quickly, and as I’d been trying out Kylie’s k2o by Sprinter electrolytes range now that it's exclusively available on iHerb in the UK, I downed a glass of the peach flavour beforehand.

Yes, I confess I lost count of the amount of frozen margs and limoncello spritzers that I enjoyed but when I woke up the next morning I downed another pint of k20 and genuinely escaped a hangover.

Normally, after a day drinking tequila, I’d be looking a day of being horizontal, minimal movements unless it was to go and pick up my Deliveroo order. Instead I was up and about ready to do all my Sunday chores.

I can’t say I was expecting much from a celebrity branded electrolyte drink but I have to say I’m impressed.

Even the flavours - peach, watermelon lime and strawberry lychee - make the dullest glass of water tasty without being overly sweet. I have to add, the watermelon lime is my favourite flavour, despite not even liking watermelon.

And yes of course, the hangover cure may just be down to replenishing key electrolytes that are in the powdered sachets, sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, but Kylie’s ‘beauty hydration mix’ lives up to the hype after my very unscientific test.

Although k2o by Sprinter positions the drink as skincare for within, the Kylie Cosmetics CEO also said that it’s for "at the party, before the party, and the next morning when you want to feel refreshed and look your best."

It's also easy to order on iHerb, you can order a pack of the mixed sachets which I did, or go all in on one flavour, each pack contains 20 sachets.

And even though its technically not a sports performance drink, I do feel like drinking it before the gym also makes staying hydrated during my workout much more enjoyable.

As k2o is being billed as ingestible beauty, it also contains collagen peptides and hyaluronic acid, it would need a longer term test that the two weeks I’ve been drinking it for.

I can’t say I’ve seen the benefits of drinking the extra collagen, but I think it’s safe to say that for a hangover prevention, I’d be comfortable enjoying another bottomless brunch with k2o by Sprinter in my recovery kit.
