If you're desperate for a holiday but want to make sure you spend as little as possible, then one woman has got the hack for you.
And let's be honest, who doesn't want to save money when it comes to going away?
After visiting 40 different countries, solo traveller and TikToker, Abbie, has learned a thing or two about the best ways to travel.

She regularly shares insights to her nomadic lifestyle online, but she also shares tips on how her followers can enjoy trips of their own.
Last week, Abbie posted a video with a series of tips which all contribute towards getting a cheaper flight, along with the caption: "Finding my affordable flights will make your travels 10x more affordable."
So, let's break down Abbie's tips.

First, she says: "Flights are cheaper on Tuesday." This is a claim backed by the popular travel site Skyscanner, which last year looked at its own data and flight price history and confirmed that 'Tuesday is the day to book'.
The site explains: "It seems most airlines launch their discounts on Monday nights, so you can pick up the best prices on Tuesday mornings. Typically, you’ll save somewhere between 15 and 25 percent."
Now, I should point out that other sites have shared conflicting claims, with the website Going.com explaining that flight prices are updated 'constantly and automatically', meaning there isn't necessarily one day that's cheaper than the next.
Still, I suppose if that's the case, there'd be no harm booking on a Tuesday just to see!

Abbie's next tip is to avoid flying on a Friday or Sunday - another piece of advice shared by Skyscanner, which explains: "Midweek [is cheapest]. Flights that take off and land on weekends, or Mondays and Fridays generally cost more. So aim for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays."
Abbie also recommends booking flights one to three months in advance - a tip which makes reference to Going.com's 'Goldilocks window'.
The site explains that airlines know people travelling for leisure will typically book flights early, whereas those travelling for business will book last-minute. To make the most of those travellers, they might hike up the prices for flights booked well in advance, or at the last second.

Going.com agrees that the best time to book domestic flights is one-to-three months before, while for international trips you're looking at between two-to-eight months.
Next, Abbie focuses on how you're booking your flight. She recommends using a VPN to change your location before booking your flight; something that might not have too much of an impact in some locations, but might work for smaller local airlines, depending on where you're travelling.
Again, if it saves you money, it's worth a try!
