Meghan Trainor is the latest A-list celebrity to come out and say that she has been using Mounjaro to help with weight loss, as the number of celebs opening up about the drug is seemingly on the rise.
The singer shared a post of her new look and credited the type two diabetes medication in part for her weight loss, although she did admit she was 'disheartened' by the fact people were only focusing on her body and not her music.
Mounjaro contains the active ingredient tirzepatide, and while the main use for it is to treat type two diabetes, it has recently been approved for weight loss management too.

Meghan said she turned to the drug because of wanting to be 'healthier' for her two young children after her second pregnancy.
It works by lowering blood sugar levels and targets the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, which are the hormones that regulate your appetite.
"Feeling so honored to be recognized by @billboard Women in Music as a Hitmaker - what a dream!" she began in her post.

"But it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here.
"This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry."
She added: "No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago. I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.
"I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy."

She praised her hard work, finishing by saying: "And I’m so glad I did because I feel great. Here’s to celebrating talent, growth, and the power of putting yourself first. Let’s keep shifting the convo to what REALLY matters. With love."
Meghan isn't the only A-lister to turn to the medication, with numerous other celebs confessing to having used it for weight loss purposes. Here are some other celebs who have admitted to using the drug:
Adam Lambert

Queen star Adam Lambert lost almost 60lbs during his overhaul of his diet and lifestyle, having made the switch from diabetes drug Ozempic to Mounjaro.
Speaking on Instagram late last year, the star revealed: "I'm dropping some tea on you guys right now. I've been on Mounjaro for the last I think, what, eight months?"
"I feel amazing. I still eat, but I eat lighter, and I eat less, and I know that there's a lot of chatter about 'Oh, you're taking it away from diabetes patients'," he said.
"I mean, quite frankly, that's the pharmaceutical industry's issue, not mine. They need to keep up with production."

Lambert explained he was originally prescribed it to level out his blood sugars, but experienced side effects so switched to Mounjaro.
Amy Schumer

The actor also suffered from bad symptoms after starting on Ozempic, so like Lambert she also made the switch to Mounjaro.
Last month, she claimed Ozempic had left her 'bedridden', telling the Howard Stern Show: "I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was like, bedridden," she told viewers.
"I was like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. God bless them."
Talking about Mounjaro, she said: "It’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have.
"But I’m having a really good experience with it, and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.
Scott Disick

Back in February, Kourtney Kardashian's ex Scott Disick confessed to using Mounjaro during an episode of The Kardashians.
Boxes of the drug were initially spotted in his fridge nine months ago, but he eventually admitted to taking it.
He bluntly replied: "No! It shows the Mounjaro? Oh, f**k me running!"
"Everybody that’s got a problem with Mounjaro can suck on my d**k," he declared. "By the way, they can see my d**k now because, for a minute, you couldn’t. It was tough living that large!"
Elon Musk

Billionaire Musk also splashed out on the medication.
He shared a pic of him dressed as Santa, and captioned it saying 'Ozempic Santa', before adding another post, saying: 'It's like Cocaine Bear but Santa and Ozempic' before clarifying it was actually Mounjaro but that didn't have the same ring to it.
What is the key difference between Mounjaro and Ozempic?
A key difference between Mounjaro and Ozempic is that Mounjaro targets both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, instead of just the GLP-1 receptor, which are two appetite-regulating hormones.
So, it’s basically a dual action drug which also improves blood sugar control and supports weight loss.
Ozempic is also only used to treat type 2 diabetes - it is not a legitimate weight-loss management drug and is not FDA approved for this use. Meanwhile, Mounjaro has been approved to aid weight loss.
