The real meaning of the Macarena has been revealed on TikTok, and people can't believe what the iconic song is actually about.
TikTok user Pea Kay made the revelation about the '90s hit by Los del Río that inspired an international dance craze in a video that was captioned: "You learn something new everyday."
Kay began by reciting the tune to the Macarena and explained that he heard it at all of his school discos when he was 'about 10 years old'.

He then revealed 'and it's about a woman whose boyfriend is about to join the army.'
"She, when he's away, has a threesome with his two best mates. No joke, Google it, what the f**k," the TikToker added.
The lyrics to the iconic song back up what Pea Kay claims and read: "Macarena has a boyfriend who is named Who is named with the last name Vitorino / And while he was being sworn in as a conscript / She’s giving it to two friends."
The TikTok did not go unnoticed, and it has been liked almost half a million times and received thousands of comments at the time of wiring.

One shocked TikTok user wrote: "Bro we literally dance to this song at weddings like what."
"How am i supposed to dance the Macarena again with this info? [sic]" asked a second, while a third wrote: "actually... thanks, you ruined my childhood."
However, it turns out that the real meaning of the song wasn't news to everyone, with a fourth adding: "I found this out like 8 years ago."

A fifth remarked: "I'm from Spain and I can tell u that all Spanish songs have a double meaning."
"I learned this a while back when I was doing karaoke with my fam, and we wanted to know what we were actually saying," revealed a sixth.
While the original TikTok was posted last year, news of the Macarena's real meaning has been recently doing the rounds again on social media.
A shocked Twitter user remarked: "Why am I 27 and only just finding out the macarena is about a woman having a threesome?"
