There's a lot that Millennials have in common, from our music tastes and memories of the 90s through to nostalgia for TV shows.
Yet there also appears to be another trend that is typical of the Millennial age group.
The term 'Millennial mole' has began to trend online and refers to recent social media discussions suggesting that many individuals born between 1981 and 1996 (so in the Millennial age group) have a mole in the same place.

The discovery has seen many people join in online with numerous users sharing their own experiences and checking for the so-called 'Millennial mole'.

Influencer Anna Lee took to Instagram with a video captioned: "I was shook! Do you have it???"
In the clip she talks to camera as she shares: "Okay y'all gotta check this out for yourself. I just read this whole thing about how all Millennials, and how if you are a Millennial then chances are you have 'the Millennial mole' on your forearm.

"How did this happen? How did we all wind up with a mole, in this exact same spot? I am so weirded out right now. Do you have it?"
Replies in the comments show that the matching moles could well be a trend, as one person replied: "As I was rolling my eyes at the post, I decided to check my arm and was stunned to find own."
Another shared: "Mine is more on the inside of my forearm but yes, it's there lol."
"What is this sorcery!!! I have it," said a third.

Yet another reply showed it might not just be limited to the Millennial generation as a comment said: "I'm Gen X and have it if that counts."
Another person replied: "Same Gen X here but I have it!"
Some people have also tried to offer reasons why on the post, as one person commented: "Must’ve been a vaccine. Baby boomers all have a mark on their upper arm from some shot. Check your parents/grandparents upper arm."

Another shared: "Sun damage babes… go put your sunblock on."
Anna Lee's video isn't the only one discussing the mole that so many people seem to have, with videos on TikTok and Instagram as well as discussions on Reddit too.

Whilst matching moles does seem to be something the internet has picked up on, it's worth mentioning that where our moles come from is a tad more scientific.

The NHS website states: "Moles are small, coloured spots on the skin. Most people have them and they're usually nothing to worry about unless they change size, shape or colour.
"UV light from the sun can increase the chance of a mole becoming cancerous. If you have lots of moles, you need to be extra careful in the sun.
"It's important to check your moles regularly for any changes."
