Real cost of running Lay-Z-Spa hot tub for entire weekend as scorching heatwave hits UK

Temperatures are set to soar this weekend

I know we've been having a bit of a weird one in terms of weather the past few weeks.

We've been treated to beautiful sunny mornings only for it to chuck it down just a few hours later then miraculously brighten back up again come evening time.

But it's clear that we can all do away with the extra layers and brollies this weekend as we're set to enjoy some gorgeous high temperatures in the next few days.

And, any Brits out there will know that when the mercury starts to rise - we partake in three main activities: tinnies in the park, beer garden festivities and a whole lot of garden antics.

From neighbourhood BBQs to some much-needed hot tub action, there's not really a better place to be in the UK when it's good weather than your back garden.

The Met Office has forecast that the weather will continue to warm up over the next few days, with 'bright and sunny conditions for many'.

Whip out the SPF as high pressure is set to dominate, with temperatures continuing to rise.

We can look forward to highs of 25°C tomorrow (10 May) with temperature which could climb up to 26°C in the south on Saturday and Sunday (11 and 12 May) .

Although the majority of the UK will enjoy this fine weather, showers more unsettled conditions are likely in the far north and northwest.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wisson said: "Many places will start fine and warm on Sunday, though it is likely to become cloudier from the west or southwest during the day."

So, with that said, I'm sure anyone with a Lay-Z-Spa hot tub will be just itching to get it in use once again - but what is the real cost of running 'one of the UK's most energy-efficient inflatable hot tubs'.

It can cost as low as £11.27 to run your Lay-Z-Spa hot tub all week. (Lay-Z-Spa)

Now, the cost of running one of these bad boys totally depends a lot on each user and how it is used.

So, to help you with the maths, the company's official website has put together a handy little guide showing the running costs which are calculated based on the current average energy prices.

A session of weekend usage for a full week at the 'average summer temperature' will be £10.03 or £7.38 if used with the thermal cover.

And a full week usage also at the same at the 'average summer temperature' will cost just under double at £18.53 or £11.27 with the cover.

"Enjoying a Lay‑Z‑Spa at the weekend only can actually cost you less than a takeaway or a trip to the cinema for two," the official website adds.

Who's tempted?
