Have you ever wonder why some people have 'innie' belly buttons while others have 'outies'?
Well, one man decided to search for an answer and soon came to seriously regret it.
@c.jack boasts more than 30k followers on Instagram, where he shares posts about his family and life in the military.

In a reel that has been viewed more than 444k times, he asked: "How do people get outie belly buttons? Is it just because the doctor didn't cut it short enough? And, if that's the case, can't you just [snip] again?"
He then decided to search Google for an answer and was horrified at what he learnt.

Reading the search result, he says: "When you're born, the umbilical cord is cut and you have a small piece left called the umbilical stump.

"One to two weeks after birth, the stump falls off. What remains is your belly button"
Jack puts his hand over his mouth in horror at the fact - which honestly came as a shock to me too because WTF - before bursting into a fit of giggles as he realises an outie belly button simply means the umbilical stump didn't fall off properly.
He then continues: "As a result, you belly button is essentially a scar. Whether it's an innie or an outie depends on how your skin grows as it heals. You can't blame your doctor or parents for how your belly button is formed. It is not a result of how your doctor clamped the umbilical cord or a result of how your parents took care of you."
But outie formation wasn't the weirdest thing he found out about the wonderful world of belly buttons.
Continuing once again, Jack reads from his computer screen: "Fun fact: some people don't have belly buttons. This is usually because they were born with a condition that affected the umbilical cord.

"An overweight person is more likely to have a small belly button, while an underweight person is more likely to have a large belly button. However, a person with obesity can have a funnel-shaped belly button which may appear as a deep button which resembles an open mouth," he says before gagging.
And people in the comments below the reel were equally shocked, with one writing: "So a belly button is a 'scar'?? Essentially your very first scar??"
Another said: "'Resembles an open mouth' is OUTRAGEOUS."
And a third commented: "Bruh what made you think of this?"
