A doctor has revealed the 'bonkers' theory which explains how people have existed long before they were born.
There are a million and one different theories about past lives, reincarnation, and the afterlife.
None are yet to be scientifically proved, but it doesn't stop the human urge to question how and why we got to earth.

One doctor has revealed an interesting theory, which explains how we may have existed in some capacity years before our birth.
Dr Bonnie Goff described the revelation as 'crazy' as she outlined how the theory is scientifically backed.
She said: "The craziest piece of psychological science I have ever learned is without question, the fact that the egg that ultimately made you was very likely in your mother's ovaries in the womb of your grandmother.

"Which in itself is bananas, just to think about."
However, there can actually be real implications in someone's life because of this.
Dr Goff continued: "But the ramifications of that are what is really crazy.
"Because we know that whatever was happening with your maternal grandmother while she was pregnant with your mum, had effects on the expression of your DNA."

Meaning that any trauma your grandma went through while she was pregnant, may well have had an effect on you.
One person in the comments made light of the dark reality, and said: "This gives new meaning to the term 'generational trauma'."
Another noted the importance of a woman's mindset before pregnancy.

They said: "This highlights the importance of healing before you have children. You will literally share yourself with this baby, including your trauma."
The doctor urged people to get in contact with their grandma as a result.
She said: "So if your grandma is still alive, you need to call her and find out what was going on when she was pregnant with your mum.
"It's like Russian nesting dolls, it's bonkers."

It prompted others in the comments to reflect on trauma they may have unknowingly passed onto their children.
One said: "Knowing what I know now about Epigenetics and gene expression, I’m sad I had kids and passed on all my family trauma to amazing humans that didn’t ask for it. So unfair to them."
Another added: "I wish this made me feel better." While a third wrote: "t's becoming far too heavy to continue carrying."
Another even recalled an eerie moment that happened with their child, sharing: "Yes!!! My mum had dementia when she held our daughter for the first time she said…. 'Oh… we are all together again…'
"My hubby heard… I just looked at me…
"For me it was validation of what my heart always knew!!"
