We all have family secrets, but one woman's made for a bit of an awkward situation when she went to pick up her driver's license. Have a look:
Gabrielle Mayor told TODAY about the incident that happened when she was 15-years-old.

“My mom and I were at the DMV picking up my learner’s permit,” Gabrielle, now 24, said. “I can’t even explain how excited I was to be able to drive.
“I felt like I’d been waiting my whole life for that moment."
But, when she headed to the counter to collect her permit, the teenager hit a bit of a roadblock.
Gabrielle was asked for her social security number, but when she gave it to the DMV employee, he couldn't find a match.

"He puts it in the computer, and he's like, ‘I’m not seeing a Gabrielle Mayor,'” she recalls. “Then he goes, ‘I do have a Babrielle Mayor.’”
Gabrielle remembers her mum, Ellyn, letting out an audible gasp, followed immediately by an “Oh, no!"
“I’m like, ‘What do you mean, ‘Oh, no?'" she said.

And that's when the teen learnt a hilarious family secret that had been kept from her for 15 years.
When Ellyn was a week late giving birth to Gabrielle, she was given a cocktail of medications to induce labour, leaving her feeling rather out of it.
“I was shaking so badly that my G must have looked like a B,” Ellyn confessed.
“After I got the birth certificate in the mail, I immediately fixed it, but for some reason I didn’t think about the social security card ... until I took Gabby for her learner's permit."

Luckily, Gabrielle found the whole situation rather funny and says the birth certificate typo is now her 'fun fact.'
She also shared the story to TikTok, in a video that has more than five million views.
And funnily enough, Gabrielle, or 'Babrielle,' isn't the one whose parents made the awkward error.

“My mom misspelled my name actually supposed to be sonya not sanya,” another commented.
And a third said: “My mom told me for like 12 years my name was spelled lilianna but on my birth certificate it’s liliana.”
