A man proposing to his girlfriend suffered a pretty major blunder when he dropped the ring in horse manure.
Yep, really!
Lewis Paterson, 30, from Wigan, planned the ultimate romantic gesture in a fairytale location when got down on one knee to ask Nicole Bolton to marry him in Château de Castelnaud over-looking the river Dordogne, south of France.

Disney mega fans will recognise the location as the town that inspired Beauty and the Beast - which happens to be Nicole's favourite film.
But things didn't quite go to plan when Lewis opened the lid of the box and the ring fell into a pile of horse poo and hay by the side of the road.

In a not so romantic twist, the couple were then left scrambling to try and find it in the manure - which luckily they did, after not too long.
And despite all the drama, Nicola agreed to marry Lewis!
“She said yes," he confirmed. “Right after I dropped the ring in a pile of stable hay and horse s**t. It was never going to go to plan with me at the wheel.”

“We couldn’t believe it,” he added. “She saw the funny side of it luckily and we both haven’t stopped laughing.
“At least I got to propose to my princess in her Beauty and the Beast village. We are planning on going back there to get married.”
In other wedding news, we recently told you about the groom-to-be left mortified when he dropped a £1,000 engagement ring he had bought for his partner into a lake while proposing.

Ross Bamber, 26, had taken his girlfriend Geri Ashforth, 23, to a romantic trip to a lake retreat in Watton, Norfolk and was just getting down on one knee in front her when the ring in his hand fell through the decking and into the water below them.
In a video of the awkward moment, recording with the intent to document the uber-romantic lakeside, candlelit proposal, Ross can be seen clasping his hands over his mouth as he realises what he's done.
Geri, standing before him with her hands over her eyes, can be heard asking him: "That wasn't what I thought it was, was it?"
Later, the couple bought another ring together and returned to the lake the next night to do the proposal properly.

However, Ross is still hoping to retrieve the original engagement ring, which he bought for a whopping £999.
