Us Brits have a lot of sayings and slang words. And while we're all guilty of using at least some, there's always one or two that really grate on us.
Now, someone has started a thread on Reddit for Brits to share the phrases and slang words that really make them cringe - and some of the responses are hilarious.
Kicking off the thread, the original poster wrote: "Are there any common UK words or phrases that make you cringe? If the phrases 'holibobs', or 'at the end of the day' are used in front of me, I'll immediately wish that your biscuit falls off into your tea when you're dunking š."

And let's just say people have a lot of feelings, with the post racking up almost 5,000 comments.
Many people have an issue with the word 'hubby' or any variation of the word, including 'hubster' or even, 'hubmeister', hubbikins or hubsy-wubsy. Oh dear!
One said it made them 'vom in their mouth' while another added: "Any of those type of suffixes make me cringe and I donāt know why. Using hub - as an example: hubster, hubarino, hublet, hubaroonie etc. And donāt get me started - meisterš¤® Anyone else?"

Another person explained they can't stand it when someone says 'I tell it like it is'.
"'I tell it like it is' = im rude and ignorant and too stupid to see anyone else's viewpoint," they wrote.
Another agreed, adding: "'I'm just being brutally honest mate...You're more interested in being brutal than you are in being honest, 'mate'."

Another had a long list of 'cringey' words, writing: "Chillax, holibobs, famalam, using man but pairing it with female, nom nom and the mrs."
While another said: "Calling someone your 'partner in crime'... Calm down you went spoons and got a pitcher, you didnāt go rob a Securicor van."
Some people were very sensitive when it came to words used to describe pets, with one person taking serious issue with the phrase 'fur baby'.

"Fur baby š”š” for crying out loud itās your pet," they wrote, while another added: "Something even worse than fur baby; I heard someone refer to their pet bird as their āfeather childā."
And a third added: "The way that 'doggo' has crept into the vernacular really winds me up. That and 'pupper'. Just stfu and call it a dog, you moron."
We just can't stop laughing at this list, you can read it in full here.
