The Egyptian toyboy who hit headlines for his marriage to his British wife 46 years his senior has broken his silence after the split – having turned to the lyrics of a truly iconic breakup song.
Iris Jones, 83, became a national treasure after she appeared on This Morning to share her story, having been unafraid to hold back as she discussed her relationship with Mohamed Ahmed Ibriham, 37.

The pair first struck up a connection after first meeting on Facebook in 2019, and the following year Iris travelled to Egypt to marry her younger lover, celebrating their union at a local KFC.
But while the couple enjoyed a ‘great sex life’, according to Iris – who regularly appeared on the ITV morning show to discuss their romance – they've now decided to call it quits.
Iris told Closer last month that she has realised she is no longer a ‘lovesick teenager’, and just wants a peaceful life with her new cat Mr Tibbs.

“I never expected to fall in love with someone 46 years younger than me, but I did,” the pensioner said.
“I adored everything about Mohamed.
“But it became hard work. We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything. I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83.”
While Mohamed hasn’t spoken to press about their breakup, he’s now taken to Facebook to share the immortal words of Gloria Gaynor.

He posted a photograph of himself alongside lyrics from Gaynor's iconic song 'I Will Survive'.
The caption read: "At first I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side.
"But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong. And I grew strong. And I learned how to get along."

PREACH.
You really can’t beat a bit of 70s disco to get through a bad split, can you?
As for Iris, it sounds like she's doing just fine, saying she got her pet cat Mr Tibbs just days after Mohamed left – taking her tempura battered prawns with him, no less – and that the new four-legged friend was the ideal companion as he ‘never complains, is very quiet and beautiful to look at'.
