An ex-Mormon has revealed what the secret 'NCMO' dating trend means and why young members use it as a loophole.
It seems the internet's obsession with all things Mormon has been renewed ever since The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives dropped on Hulu last week.
Viewers have been particularly invested when it comes to the sex lives and bedroom trends members of the Mormon church allegedly follow.
Alyssa Grenfell, who goes by the handle @alyssadgrenfell online, took to TikTok to share with her 251.3k followers a rundown on some common Mormon slang.

She shared a handful of phrases which are apparently popularly used within the Mormon community, starting off strong with 'NCMO'.
Explaining the abbreviation, which stands for 'non-committal make-out session' Alyssa shared: "This is essentially the Mormon version of a 'booty call' and is very common at BYU (Brigham Young University in Utah)."
Next on the rundown is 'Levi Lovin', which the former Mormon defines as: "The Mormon term that refers to dry-humping.
"This is basically the motions of having sex while clothed. It's also sometimes called 'durfing'."

"You've probably heard of 'soaking'," the TikToker continued. "It's apparently when a man puts it [his penis] in but doesn't move at all so it 'doesn't count' as a sin, though I swear this one is just a Mormon myth."
Alyssa then got into the term 'fill your canteen', explaining: "When a guy or a girl serves a Mormon mission, they can have no physical contact with the opposite sex.
"So that means they have to 'fill their canteen' with as many 'NCMOs' as possible so that they have something to remember when they are lonely missionaries."

And last on the list is 'sweet spirit'.
"Sweet spirit is a very mean term for a girl who is not very pretty but has a kind heart," Alyssa finished up. "There's a song about this in a Mormon movie and the best-known line is 'She's only getting married if we bring back polygamy'."
Alyssa Grenfell has also previously spoken about the concept of 'soft swinging', explaining why it's so prevalent within the Mormon community and what it actually involves.

"Swinging, in my opinion, is actually prevalent in Mormon culture especially in Utah," said Alyssa.
"These women are getting married as young as 16, straight into childbirth... a lot of the men getting married around 20, 21... very early marriages and then when they find themselves in unhappy marriages they then try to resort to swinging to try and stay married.
"Getting divorced and breaking up a temple marriage is a really big deal within Mormonism so they resort to swinging as a way to have their cake and eat it too."
