Expert advice has revealed six ways you can help boost your stamina during sex – many of which are much simpler than you might think.
Many people are no doubt on a bit of a health kick this January after a busy festive period, whether it involves trying to get a bit more exercise, adding more fruit and veg into your daily diet, giving up the booze or even just getting better sleep each night.

But have you paid any thought to ways to improve your fitness in the bedroom?
The experts at Condoms UK have come up with six top tips to do precisely that, saying there are simple ways to improve your stamina in the sack.
One of them is something many women are already doing, but it turns out it could be a handy practice for fellas, too.
1. Kegel exercises
Kegel exercises – also known as pelvic floor exercises – can be just as helpful to men as they are for women.

While women can improve their own sexual arousal, ease reaching orgasm, enhance vaginal lubrication and relax the vagina for penetration, men experience firmer erections as blood flow to the groin improves.
As Condoms UK puts it: “A win-win for all involved.”
2. Extended foreplay
Foreplay is essential for a ‘fulfilling sexual experience’, and shouldn’t just be considered the prelude to the main event.

It’s a ‘key component in enhancing sexual pleasure and duration’, as the brain experiences heightened pleasure during prolonged anticipation.
3. ‘Edging technique’
This probably sounds dirtier than it needs to be, but the ‘edging technique’ involves nearing climax and then pausing.

This practice, which can be used in both solo and partnered sexy time, delays ejaculation to help improve sexual endurance.
4. Thicker condoms
Using thicker condoms can help delay ejaculation by desensitising the penis, in turn allowing people to last longer during sex and increase sexual endurance.
5. Regular masturbation
It might sound counterproductive, but apparently regular masturbation contributes to building stamina - though there’s a knack to it.

Deliberately delaying orgasm during solo sessions can help train the body to extend the duration, although Condoms UK recommends considering mutual masturbation to ‘explore and understand each other's preferences’.
6. Deep breathing techniques
The experts also reckon you should integrate ‘deep, slow breathing’ into your sexual activities, which they say reduces anxiety while also reducing the time to ejaculation.
“Rhythmic breathing promotes relaxation, delaying the onset of orgasm and creating a more satisfying sexual experience,” they explain.
