If you were looking to spice up your love life in 2024, then you may want to tread extra lightly around a certain bedroom position.
Dubbed the 'world's most dangerous sex position', one doctor has issued an urgent warning when it comes to getting it on in the bedroom.
UK-based surgeon, Dr Karan Raj, who goes by the handle @dr.karanr online, took to TikTok to share with his 5.2 million followers exactly which position could result in a pretty gnarly injury if you aren't careful. Have a look:
The doctor began by saying it was the 'most dangerous' sex position as determined by science as it is the cause of a staggering '50 per cent' of penile fractures.

Ouch.
Dr Raj revealed that the culprit for such injuries was the 'reverse cowgirl position'.
Incase you're unfamiliar with the term, the reverse cowgirl position is when one partner receiving penetration sits on top of the other facing away from them.

The person on top is able to control the pace, rhythm, and depth of penetration while the person underneath can assist with support and thrusting.
There's also a handful of ways to perform the position - including the person on top leaning on their knees, leaning back and supporting their weight with their feet or leaning forward on their hands.
So - how do you avoid one of these dreaded penile fractures?
Despite being boneless, Dr Raj warns that penises very much so still tear.

"A penile fracture is actually a tear to the tunica albuginea," he continued. "This is actually a rubbery sheet of tissue that allows the penis to enlarge in width and length during erection."
He further explains: "If there's any erratic thrusting of the movements of the two parties are not in sync, it could lead to the male Jabberwocky slipping out and being crushed by the female pubic bone despite."
The doc concluded his PSA: "You've been warned - over enthusiastic sex could leave your penis looking like an aubergine."
