People are divided after a video of a man recording a woman in a restaurant has gone viral on TikTok.

User @dilf_30 shared the clip on the video sharing platform, explaining they had been out for brunch when they saw the man recording a woman from behind.

And people were divided over the video. While many were horrified at the obvious violation of the woman's privacy, others said the TikTok user was being hypocritical for also recording someone without their knowledge.

One person wrote: "Men intentionally miss the point. He’s recording her in a sexual way to get off to it later. She’s doing it to show he’s doing wrong n can show the girl being recorded."

While another said: "He’s recording with bad intentions. Different from who’s recording him."

And a third added: "Being a woman in todays society has become frightening."

Meanwhile a fourth commented: "They just like the fact that it’s in secret and the woman is not consenting."

And a fifth pointed out: "How people are defending the guy is actually unreal. This guy is doing good morally calling this out and most importantly showing her and the store."

Others meanwhile, were sympathetic towards the man, but many pointed out some of the comments defending him were 'worrisome'.

One person wrote: "You’re recording him too lol."

While another said: "Neither the man nor the person posting this broke any laws. People are in a public space."

And a third added: "He’s not doing anything wrong tho. If he was he’d get in trouble. It’s that simple. Your feelings don’t determine societies rules."

The user later confirmed that they had informed both the woman being recorded and the restaurant they were eating at, explaining: "We did inform the woman and gave the video to her and management."
