People have been left feeling horrified after a woman revealed the back of her head 'exploded' while on a flight, supposedly due to the air pressure on the plane. Watch her speak about the unbelievable - and, I imagine, very painful - experience here:
TikToker Weronika (@polish_99) jumped in on the ‘POV’ trend to share her story about a recent travelling disaster.

She wrote: "POV: you're the flight attendant that I've just had to inform the back of my head exploded from the pressure."
In the caption, she added: “Still not over how gross it was.”
But before you cancel your holiday next summer, understand that there were some slightly exceptional circumstances that led to the real life horror story, as Weronika had just undergone surgery before the flight.
In a series of posts, the TikToker explained that she had been ‘certified as fit to fly by two different doctors’ after being fully checked over.

But while up in the air, the stitches at the back of her head burst open, which I imagine was about as harrowing as it sounds.
"We were on the plane, everything's chill, we'd gone to sleep because we'd been travelling since 2am and I wake up and I'm in a lot of pain," she said.
"I can feel pain all around here [behind her left ear], like my actual ear was in pain as well and I was like, 'How is that possible? I can't even feel my ears yet.'"

Weronika added: "Everything was really hurting, I got up, went to the toilet and I heard this audible pop."
Eventually, she realised that the incision behind her ears had split open.
"Immediately after I felt this hot liquid dripping down my neck and I grabbed some towels and started wiping it up,” Weronika said.
"Obviously it was blood but, I don't know if anyone's had lipo, the fluid that comes out of you is like yellowy with blood and bits."

Weronika believes the reason her head split open was because she had a drain in the exact area where it burst, saying this is where most fluid would accumulate.
She thinks it must have then swelled up on the plane – not great when combined with the air pressure, no doubt.
Unfortunately, Weronika had no choice but to keep pressure on the wound until the plane landed, although thankfully it looks like she’s now doing fine.

After some people asked if she was considering suing any of the medical professionals that signed her off to fly, she said she didn’t feel anyone was at fault – explaining she has ‘unusually’ soft tissue.
"No one made any mistake, the original surgeon or the airport doctor at the hospital,” she said.
“Everything was fine when I got on the plane.
"I have unusually soft tissue and swell more than the average person which led to some of the stitches coming open on the plane in one tiny area."
