Although we’ve all heard about the rush to secure a sun lounger at hotels in hot locations, one holidaymaker captured a peculiar war to bag one of the chairs.
At a hotel in Majorca, tourists were spotted literally going above and beyond to get their butts on a sun lounger by booking one well in advance.
The sun lounger war was filmed by TikToker Gillian (@makeup_cleanse_repeat) during August of last year.

People were caught reserving an entire row of the outdoor furniture for the entire week.
The jaw-dropping move left Gillian furious as she filmed it all unfold at 7pm at night.
"It's 7 o'clock at night, and these people reserve their sunbeds for the whole week. They don't move them," she explained in her video.

Gillian appeared to be filming the situation from her balcony, capturing an entire row of beach chairs by the pool with each of them adorned with towels.
“They lie there so you can’t get a sunbed. It is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous," she added.
The video sparked outrage among TikTok users, many of whom criticised the other holidaymakers for hogging the sun loungers.
“Just move the stuff,” one TikToker urged. “If it’s been unoccupied for 2 hours, I’m that’s unreasonable. Just move the towels.”

While one cheeky commenter wrote: “The night before you go home sneak down about 3 a.m. and throw all the towels in the sea.”
Believe or not, they weren’t the only person who wanted Gillian to do this.
“Throw all the towels in the sea then you can have any sunbed you want,” said another.

Someone else wrote: “Nah swap the towels around and cause a war.”
Another TikTok user had a different cunning plan, writing: “I would get up in the morning. Keep and eye and if nobody returns to [their] beds [within] half hour and bags etc aren’t there I’d remove [the] towel myself.”
Obviously, you should never touch or move other people’s property without their permission and don’t throw them in the sea, either.
Other TikTok users blamed the hotel for not keeping a lid on its sunlounger system.

“It’s the hotel’s fault,” one person declared. “Bring in a rule that this isn’t allowed and that towels will be removed after 2h of no one on them.”
Another commenter wrote: "That’s hotel managements fault they should have a no reserving policy and have someone remove them before a certain time like 9 a.m."
