Weddings are high-stakes events at the best of times, with emotions running high after months of planning so you hope that everything will go without a hitch.
And of course, the most important moment is when the blushing bride makes her big entrance down the aisle - and it's an especially big deal for any parent to hand their children away to their future spouses.
Sometimes though those best-laid plans still go awry, and with everyone photographing and filming everything (unless you have an unplugged ceremony) then any mishaps can be documented for all to see.

So spare a thought for this poor father of the bride, who made a crucial mistake in his big moment.
Neil Crossley, 60, was steeling his nerves before the honour of walking his daughter Amy Totty, 30, down the aisle at Holmfirth Vineyards last month.
Unfortunately for Neil and Amy though, a miscommunication between dad Neil and the venue staff meant that he started the walk to the altar without one key thing.

You often hear about rings being forgotten at the altar... but what about the bride?
Neil started walking towards his soon-to-be son-in-law, Harry Totty, 29, but Amy was nowhere to be seen.
And he almost ended up reaching Harry at the alter before the member of staff caught up with him and pointed out where he should have been instead.

Whoops!
The rest of the ceremony went without any other problems and fortunately, everyone saw the funny side of Neil's mistake.
The teacher from Barnsley, Yorkshire, said: "After the initial fumble, it just felt very funny to everyone, including myself.
"I even managed to sneak it into my 'Father of the Bride' speech at the reception afterwards.

"The joke I made about the guests thinking I was at the wrong wedding got a huge laugh, so everyone took it in good spirits."
Meanwhile, Amy, a nurse from Barnsley, Yorkshire, explained that the incident was entirely down to 'pure miscommunication' between her dad and the staff.
"He thought they told him to walk when they had actually said wait for me!" she said.

"It was just perfect timing as he made me, my husband and all our lovely friends and family laugh. I especially appreciated it as I was trying very hard not to cry and he helped me compose myself.
"It was a special moment none of us will forget."
