If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that getting a tattoo only to end up seriously regretting it is all too common.
Whether or not I include myself in this remains private.
Even worse off are the ones people get them after a few too many on chaotic holidays.

We’ve all heard the stories, with some of them becoming something of an urban legend.
Thanks to TikTok, we’re launched straight into the lives - and fragile emotions - of people with fresh ink they hate.
One woman has gone viral for sharing her devastation when her dream tattoo ended up being a total fail.

The concept was a ‘BFF tattoo’ that matches to look like one thing – but the end result ended up looking like something rather rude indeed.
Take at look at the NSFW ink below:
TikToker Anicole shared a video that she captioned: “When you try to get cute matching bestie tattoos and you get two limp d**ks instead!”

The video shows her in tears as she shows off her attempt of ‘half a butterfly’ tattoo.
She showed the two side by side which are supposed to show a complete butterfly - though it wasn't very convincing.
Alone, their tattoos straight up resemble a flaccid penis.

Anicole’s misery seemed to have the opposite effect on the video sharing platform, gaining over 750,000 likes.
One person commented: “Well when life gives you lemons make lemonade. There's going to be worse days then a bad tattoo. And another thing, a good tattoo artist can make that into something more beautiful.”
Another said: “That will be incredibly easy to cover up. Just saying, the world isn’t ending.”

A third recommended: “Just go get the rest of the butterfly done so it looks like an actual butterfly.”
And it seems that’s exactly what Anicole did.
She shared in a follow up video her new ink, which is a much more ornate set of butterflies and flowers all over her upper arm.
The person who recommended the cover up responded by saying: “Turned out awesome! Happy for you.”
Always think twice before getting inked. Tattoo removal is eye-wateringly expensive and it isn’t always this easy to get a cute cover up.
Lesson learned!
