Nothing will make you feel older than realising there's yet another new bit of slang you don't recognise.
Listen, we've only just found out what 'skibidi toilet' is, and we're already behind the times.
If you have a younger sibling or work in a school, chances are you're on the front line of all the latest phrases, and keeping up to date with the trends of what's being said and how the teenage vocabulary is developing.
It seems that previously shouting 'six, seven' in the hallway was the done thing, but now they've moved on to something else, and it's another numerical one.

If you haven't caught up with the previous numbers, apparently, 'six, seven' means something is ‘so-so’ or ‘mid', but it originates from a song called 'Doot Doot (6 7)' by rapper Skrilla.
So, where and why have they moved on to shouting '41' instead?
Apparently, that one also comes from song lyrics, according to teacher and social media creator Mr Philip Lindsay, who saved us all the job of trying to translate the latest trends and did it for us.

In a new post, he explained: "The new meme that is trending, that kids aren’t saying quite yet but are starting to pick up on, is 41.
“It starts from a song by a rapper named Blizzy Boi, and he says that he is 41 and he has 41 of everything."
The teacher explains that another social media creator posting as Hooperville took this lyric and ran with it, and created a hand gesture to accompany it.
Needless to say, this has not reached our TikTok For You page just yet.

Mr Lindsay explained: “Lots of people are saying it’s the new six-seven and it’s going to trend even more and even longer.”
Just what teachers want to hear.

The teacher says as far as he knows it's 'meaningless' beyond that, but it could just be that the kids aren't telling him, after all, it's more fun to wind your teacher up if they don't understand.

One TikTok commenter hilariously suggested "GUYS 6x7 = 41 No waaaaay", which suggests they might want to stay in school a little bit longer... (before you get your calculator out, it's 42. You're welcome.)
Another replied to the hand movement video, insisting 'I'ma stick to 6 7', so maybe it won't catch on quite as much as the previous trend, while others referred to the '21 meme', which at this point, we're too afraid to ask about.
So, in short, it looks like there's actually no secret explanation - it simply doesn't really mean anything. And anyway, we're sure it will soon enough be replaced with yet another equally annoying trend.
