Apple’s latest update has caused a stir online after people realised that its new feature that could be a handy tool for cheating spouses.
The latest update was revealed by the iPhone creators at the Worldwide Developers Conference at Apple Park in California and explained how it would feature new and exciting ways users can use their applications and icons.
There was also an option to rearrange apps, which is perfect if you’re the type of person who likes an organised screen.

But one of the ways you can organise your apps is to choose to hide it from view…and people are not happy.
The official Apple website states: "iOS 18 gives users even more control with tools to manage who can see their apps, how contacts are shared, and how their iPhone connects to accessories.
"Locked and hidden apps offer users peace of mind that information they want to keep private, such as app notifications and content, will not inadvertently be seen by others.

"Users can now lock an app; and for additional privacy, they can hide an app, moving it to a locked, hidden apps folder.
“When an app is locked or hidden, content like messages or emails inside the app are hidden from search, notifications, and other places across the system."
Basically, if you’re up to something you shouldn’t be, this is the perfect solution to avoid being caught out.
This is why people on X are going wild, as they believe this could allow people to cheat and their partners will never know.

One person said: “The fact that you can lock an app with IOS 18 is crazy, they make it so easy to cheat.”
Another shared: “This iOS 18 update pretty smooth but Apple made its easier for cheaters to cheat.”
Someone else wrote: “This iOS 18 is specifically made for people who cheat.”
One horrified user penned: “iOS 18 is so cheater-friendly it’s absurd.”

The user also went on to explain how the tool is the ultimate-cheater’s friend.
They wrote: “You can set it up so you need to use Face ID to access specific apps and there’s also a 'hidden' folder for apps where you can password protect it.
“Which I think can be useful but I also see people (men, mostly) using it to be slimy.”

Other people decided that this was enough to completely convert from iPhone to Android, writing: "Apple is for cheaters. I'm a real lover I gotta get Android."
Now, Reddit is also not too pleased with it either, with one OP talking about how it’s breaking the rules of a relationship to participate in hiding apps.
They said: “On iOS 18, aka the cheater update.
“If your partner hides their phone from you and doesn't let you see, they're cheating.
“If your partner hides apps on their phone from you and doesn't let you see, they're cheating.
“If your partner values their ability to secretly cheat on you over your feelings, it's a form of infidelity in its own right.”
