Earlier this month, Donald Trump was announced as the 47th president of the United States after beating Democrat candidate, Kamala Harris, to the leadership.

On Wednesday (13 November), Trump, 78, sat down with the former president, Joe Biden, to discuss the presidential transition.

The politicians reclined on two cream-coloured armchairs in the White House's Oval Office with Biden saying to Trump: "Well, Mr President-elect and former president..." before trailing off.

Biden also shook Trump's hand, who was quite sure how to respond to Biden as he responded: "Thank you very much, Joe."

Biden finally settled on 'Donald, congratulations' prompting him to repeat once again: "Thank you very much."

The Democrat continued: "And looking forward to having a, like we said, smooth transition.

"Do everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated, what you need. And we’re going to get a chance to talk about some of that today. Welcome. Welcome back."

"Thank you very much," Trump, who is also first convicted felon to serve in the presidential role, said. "And politics is tough. And it’s, many cases, not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today. And I appreciate it very much - a transition that’s so smooth it’ll be as smooth as it can get.

"And I very much appreciate that, Joe.”

Biden then replied: "You’re welcome."

Despite the context of their meeting, people have been extremely distracted by one thing after a video of the pair's interaction was released on social media.

Needless to say, they couldn't wait to share their thoughts on just how roaring the fireplace behind the pair was - so much so that it was quite literally taking centre stage.

One X user penned: "That fireplace is f*cking blazing omg."

"That fire is like roaring!" quipped a second while a third chimed in: "I can’t be the only one distracted by the massive fire behind them."

A fourth echoed: "Is anyone else noticing the intensity of the fireplace in the background?"

"I feel the heat," revealed a fifth while another declared: "No way that fireplace is real."

And a final X user added: "I’m roasting just looking at that.

"Like a really old relative turning on the heat to 90 degrees in the dead of summer. And somehow they’re still freezing.

"That’s what it reminds me of."
