Gabby Petito's parents have spoken about the one thing that Brian Laundrie's parents never did following her death.
The YouTuber was murdered by her fiancé Brian in August 2021, but a new Netflix documentary into her disappearance has unearthed some eerie details about the case and what happened in the days and weeks after Gabby's death.
The documentary also looks at the other people who were associated with Gabby and Brian, including their parents and friends.

Brian's parents in particular, Roberta and Chris Laundrie, have been the subject of much speculation after viewers were left feeling shocked and outraged over their behaviour following Gabby's death.
When Gabby went missing, police turned up at the home of Brian's parents to see if they could find any information on her whereabouts.
They were shocked when they discovered that not only had Brian returned to the address without Gabby, but her van was also sitting on the drive.
The couple refused to talk to law enforcement - or Gabby's parents - who had also contacted them when their daughter first went missing.

Gabby's father Joe and his wife Tara Petito had a pretty clear response when they were asked if Brian's parents had ever apologised.
“No,” they told NewsNation’s Brian Entin.
“At this point, I don’t want one. I don’t want one,” said Tara. “It doesn’t help us.”

Gabby’s step mum went on: “I would love for them to be charged with something, I really really would love that. Do I think that’s happening now? Unfortunately, no, so I really want to erase that name out of my memory.”
Meanwhile, Gabby's mother, Nichole Schmidt, added: “I don’t think we’ll ever know why - the only two people who know why, and how, are the two people that were there when this happened.”
She also believes 'things were known' by Brian's parents, adding that she 'doesn't like to talk about them'.

Viewers watching the new Netflix documentary were particularly concerned over a 'burn after reading' letter written by Roberta to her son.
According to CNN, the letter was found in Brian's backpack when his body was discovered in October 2021, weeks after Gabby's death.
The letter read as follows, as per CNN: “I just want you to remember I will always Love you, and I know you will always Love me. You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you.
“Nothing will or could ever divide us: no matter what we do, or where we go or what we say - we will always Love each other. If you're in jail, I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I will show up with a shovel and garbage bags. If you fly to the moon, I will be watching the skies for your re-entry.

“If you say you hate my guts, I'll get new guts. Remember that love is a verb, not a noun. It's not a thing, it's not words, it is actions. Watch people's actions to know if they love you - not their words.”

It continued: “Therefore I am certain that neither death nor Life, nor angels nor the ruling spirits, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers from above, nor powers from below, nothing in the entire created world can separate our love.
“Neither hostile powers nor messengers of heaven nor monarchs of earth. Nothing has the power to separate us - Romans 8:38 (extended version!) (Nothing can separate us: not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can get between us.) Not time. Not miles and miles and miles.”
