A 12-year-old girl was attacked on her school bus by a fellow student while several others filmed it and chanted along.
Shocking footage was shared on social media on Friday, 14 July of the vicious attack, which was carried out the previous day (13 July) involving pupils of the Valley Leadership Academy in Bacup.
Amelia-Page tried to defend herself from the attack as another student hit her time and time again while others around her laughed and chanted 'one more, one more, one more'.
One voice said that there should not be more fighting as Amelia hadn't hit back at the girl attacking her, but sadly the blows continued.
Lancashire Police are investigating the attack, which occurred while students of the academy were going home for the day, while the school is also looking into the matter.
Amelia's mum Tyler said the school governors had been in contact with her to reassure her they were taking the attack 'incredibly seriously'.
She said she was 'incredibly thankful' for the support offered to her by her local community and explained that she didn't want the video taken down as it showed others what unacceptable behaviour looked like.
Tyler said her 12-year-old daughter had 'suffered injuries to her head' and described the attack from the other student as 'beyond cruel'.
She said her daughter had been missing school recently and believes she now knows the reason why, adding that one of Amelia's teachers had been round to visit as well and been 'really good' to the family.
"A number of our children have been affected by a distressing and unacceptable incident on a public bus," a spokesperson for the Valley Leadership Academy said of the attack.
"We are liaising with the relevant public authorities, conducting our own rigorous investigation and supporting children and parents."
“We have high expectations of every pupil and do not tolerate poor behaviour in our school. Whilst this incident took place on a public bus service, we expect our pupils to behave appropriately in and out of school and the overwhelming majority of our pupils demonstrate exemplary character at all times."
Tyler was worried that her daughter could have been 'the next Sophie Lancaster', a 20-year-old who died in 2007 after being attacked by teenage boys in Bacup.
The mum also said that if an adult had done what the girl had done to her daughter then they'd be 'done for GBH' while also criticising the many who stood around and filmed, noting that some of their parents had called her to apologise.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police spoke on the situation on Friday and urged the students on the bus who had been filming the incident to provide officers with the videos of what happened.
They said: "Yesterday (13 July) we received a report of an assault committed on a school bus. We have spoken with the victim and their family and have visited the school in relation to this incident.
"Following enquiries, today we have identified a girl involved and arrangements have been made to interview her."
“It has been brought to our attention that a number of young people filmed the incident at the time and may have since shared it on social media. If you are one of these people, it is really important that you step forward and provide us with these videos."
A GoFundMe has been set up for the family which was aiming to raise £600 to give Amelia some good days in the school holiday but at time of writing it has raised over £4,000. You can donate to it here.
