A woman living in the 'direct path' of Hurricane Milton have shared a terrifying update on how her animals are faring after revealing the tragic reason she can't evacuate.

The Florida farmer who goes by the username @oursidehomestead on TikTok has been regularly keeping her concerned followers updated on how she and her brood are faring during the 'deadliest' and most 'catastrophic' storm to hit the state in 100 years.

Many locals have been advised to flee their homes and take refuge elsewhere in order to protect themselves.

However, the farmer revealed that she cannot evacuate with the rest of the crowds, despite being in the 'direct line' that the natural disaster is supposed to hit.

In one emotional video she pleaded: "We're not evacuating. So, please, don't ask me to."

Breaking down in tears, the TikToker added: "All these animals are children, and we've raised most of them since birth, and we're not leaving them.

"We're not in an evacuation zone so we're not near the water, but it's going to be bad."

She went on: "There was no way to evacuate the animals because there's nowhere to take them. This whole state is getting hit.

"We can't take them out of state because we don't have health certificates for everybody, so, we're staying put."

She's since shared yet another update on the nightmare situation with one video posted five hours ago showing the farmer, her partner, her dogs and donkey sitting in the dark with the caption reading: "We lost power and the storm is picking up."

In a follow-up video posted two hours ago, the farmer shared footage of how 'crazy' the storm was.

"Everything is blowing and blowing," she said, while the caption explained: "We went outside to check on the animals.

"This wind is extremely powerful and scary. We have a giant tree down that just missed crushing the chicken coop."

The farmer also confirmed: "The storm still hasn't hit us yet."

The farmer also shared a video of her reacting to the horrible situation yesterday where she said: "It's hard, and I just wanna magically wanna make this all go away.

"What's hard is just sitting here knowing what's about to come."

She continued: "I wish I had a wonderful update, but I just want to thank all of you.

"I cannot believe the amount of messages and love and prayers from complete strangers all over the world with such compassion.

"Thank you. I've never felt so much love from so many people that I don't know, and I feel it, and I feel this layer of protection you are all praying over us in the farm. So thank you. Thank you."

The farmer finished off: "There's so much goodness out there in the world, and I'm just so grateful you are showering on us.

"I'll keep updating you, I promise. I'll try not to do so many crying videos. But man, this is hard."
