The 36-year-old was reported by multiple people in June 2022, after they saw her cycling through Indianapolis, Indiana with her twins in a crate on the front of her bike.
Some reports stated that Kirby nearly fell off her bike whilst riding the two tots around.
When stopped by police officers, Kirby told them that she had always transported her children around this way as she did not have a car.
At the time, the babies were only wearing their nappies and the crate was fixed onto the bike with a bungee cord.

The twins, one boy and one girl, were taken to a hospital where they were treated for sunburn and minor scratches.
According to court documents, medics at the scene found that one of the babies was suffering from sunburns, abrasions on their left hand and minor scratches.
They reported that the second baby had sunburns, a wound on their groin and an 'extreme' rash.
Neither baby had been restrained whilst riding in the crate.

At the time of her arrest, Kirby claimed she was on a 30 minute bike ride.
One witness, Suezanne Lynch, recalled seeing Kirby and told FOX 59: "She had told me that prior to me stopping her, she had one baby in the front and one baby in the back.
"She couldn’t control the bike that well, so she put both babies in the one milk crate in the front. [She said] that was her way of transporting the babies any time she left.
"It was heartbreaking. What I can’t stop thinking about is I know I wasn’t the only one to see her there were so many people who drove past her and just kept driving for who knows how long."

Another witness, Brian Henderson, filmed the bizarre scene and shared the clip to social media, in which he can be heard saying: "You can’t have those babies in there like that, ma’am."
Kirby was found guilty on both counts of child cruelty by a jury on 22 May 2023.
She was handed two years in prison with one suspended for both counts, which would served at the same time.
