A surplus of 1,000 people have reported issues when using the apps on their laptops and smartphones - including with sending and receiving messages.
Others claim that they're unable to use the search tool on either app.

As well as affecting the UK, the issues also appear to be affecting parts of Europe and Asia.
Amongst those who have been unable to access their accounts are some who have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns.

There has still yet to be an official explanation or statement from Facebook or Meta about the outage so it looks like we're all just be stuck here hanging about until it sorts itself out...
And to make matters worse, this isn't the first time that bosses of the social media apps have come under fire this month.
On 5 March, Facebook and Instagram users tried to access their accounts only to find they had been logged out and were left completely unable to log back in.
At the time, Meta acknowledged the issues and said it is 'working on this now'.

"We are aware of an issue impacting Facebook Login. Our engineering teams are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible," a page on Meta's website explained.
Andy Stone, comms at Meta, later issued a statement explaining the outage: "Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience."
Tyla reached out to Meta for comment on the new faults.
