The search for the missing British teen Jay Slater in Tenerife has reportedly been suspended and switched to a new location.
Jay Slater, who hails from Lancashire, had been enjoying a holiday on the Spanish island with two friends in the hours before he went missing on 17 June, having flown to the Canaries for a music festival.
A search party has since begun with Tenerife police now desperately searching for the missing 19-year-old, who are hoping that the final phone call he made prior to his disappearance can assist in pointing to his whereabouts.

The search party has since moved to the south of the island.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard said at 12.30pm local time today (19 June): "The search operation has moved to the south of the island. The search areas are Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas."
The spokesman added: "It’s obviously down to information that’s been received as the investigation has progressed. As things stand at the moment the search in the mountainous area near Masca in the north has been halted."

A Civil Guard spokeswoman in Tenerife also said today (19 June): "We are still searching for the missing man.
"The search operation is being conducted by the Civil Guard and different units are participating. They include the helicopter unit, the cynological unit which uses dogs, the Greim mountain rescue and intervention unit and citizen security patrols.
"The helicopter unit has one helicopter which has been participating in the search since it began on Monday. We’re not going to talk about the number of officers involved but it’s a large operation.

"The focus area is the area where we were informed the missing man had disappeared which is the narrow valley within the Teno Massif called the Masca Gorge."
She added: "When there’s a disappearance police always look at all options and investigate all the possibilities. In this case no hypothesis has been ruled out as you’d expect at the start of any investigation."
Before the update, a Snapchat video was released of the missing teen before he disappeared showing what he was wearing.

He is seen in a grey t-shirt with green stripes on the shoulders and is carrying a black bag. It's likely this is what he was wearing when he went missing the next morning.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office previously told Tyla: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."
LADbible Group has contacted the Civil Guard for further comment.
