
RuPaul's Drag Race star Jiggly Caliente has passed away aged 44, her family has confirmed.
Real name Bianca Castro, the drag star passed away following a 'severe infection', which had led to the amputation of her right leg.
The heartbreaking news was announced by her family in a statement on Instagram, as they wrote: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arebejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente.

“Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity."
The statement continued: "She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light.

“Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever.

The star - who revealed she was transgender in 2016 - rose to fame after appearing on season four of RuPaul's Drag Race back in 2012, which included a line-up of other now-famed queens such as Latrice Royale and Sharon Needles.
She later returned for the show's sixth All Stars season, where she placed 12th, while she is also known for her role in the hit TV show Pose.
Just two days ago, the star's family announced she wouldn't be making her scheduled appearance as a judge for the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines, as she had suffered a 'serious health setback'.

"Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalised and, as a result, has undergone the loss of most of her right leg," the statement continued.

Castro's passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow queens, as RuPaul's Drag Race co-star Courtney Act wrote: "Love you, Jiggles."
Meanwhile, Laganja Estranja said the news was 'heartbreaking' as she commented: “Such a kind, caring soul!! She will be greatly missed.”
And Victoria Secret wrote: "Love you Jiggly, gone way too soon. This is so awful! Thinking of your close friends and family. Much love to them all."
