United States President Donald Trump has announced his plans to address the nation live from the White House.

Taking to Truth Social on Tuesday (16 December), the 79-year-old Republican unexpectedly announced: "My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST.

"I look forward to 'seeing' you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!"

He signed off the post: "PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt soon confirmed to reporters that Trump will 'talk a lot about the accomplishments over the past 11 months'.

Additionally, he'll reportedly discuss 'all that he's done to bring our country back to greatness, and all he continues to plan to do to continue delivering for the American people over the next three years'.

While she didn't elaborate further on the topic of his planned remarks, Leavitt did promise that it would be a 'really good speech'.

His upcoming address to the nation follows a brand-new poll, which found that his economic job approval rating has dropped to a whole new low - despite the fact that he continuously brags about his approval ratings.

It's the lowest in either of his two terms as POTUS.

Trump’s approval rating decreased from 41 percent to 39 percent in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday (16 December) compared to the group's poll last week, while his disapproval rating also increased from 57 percent to 59 percent.

Meanwhile, approval of Trump’s handling of the economy slipped from 36 percent to 33 percent, while the share of respondents who said they disapprove increased from 52 percent to 58 percent.

And the disapproval ratings appear to be evident among fellow Republicans, as a recent NBC News-SurveyMonkey poll showed the percentage of MAGA Republicans who strongly approved of Trump declining from 78 percent to 70 percent.

While Trump didn't specify whether he would be speaking from the Oval Office, it is expected that he will most likely behind the Resolute Desk.

Trump has delivered two sit-down addresses from the Oval Office since his inauguration in January of this year.

The first was a set of remarks on his administration’s efforts to promote 'law and order' following the horrifying stabbing of a Ukrainian woman named Iryna Zarutska a few months back (9 September).

He spoke from the same place a day later, after the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk (10 September).
