Carrie Underwood forced to make major change to Trump’s inauguration performance after technical difficulties

Country music star Carrie Underwood suffered a technical blunder during her performance at 47th president Donald Trump's inauguration earlier today (20 Jan).

After being subjected to mass backlash over her supposed support of the controversial Republican leader, the 'Before He Cheats' singer rocked up to the Capitol Rotunda for the festivities.

Sadly, however, when her time came to sing patriotic number, 'America The Beautiful', the 41-year-old was met with silence.

It turns out that a technical error had occurred behind the scenes, leaving Underwood to sing the track totally a capella.

"If you know the words, help me out here," she pleaded before breaking into song.

The cringe-worthy mistake didn't escape the notice of millions of viewers tuning in from home, including one who teased: "LMAOOOO she can’t hide behind tracking vocals and instrumental now. she sounds a mess."

Another hit out: "CLOCK IT BUFFY. She sounds horrible. TURN THAT SH*T OFF"

Others, however, defended the star for getting on with the show.

"Everyone has off days, even talented performers like Carrie Underwood," one gushed.

Another went on: "Listen, I have been disappointed since the announcement, but she killed it."

"Honestly she kinda ate…." another wrote.

As we say, Underwood faced severe backlash from fans after it was confirmed that she'd be performing for the prestigious ceremony.

Fans of the star were clearly not happy with the news, with many rushing to share their 'heartbreak' after her involvement was announced.

One social media user penned: "Carrie Underwood is preforming at Trump’s inauguration so I’m blocking her on all apps and boycotting all her music."

"As a longtime fan that’s been to all of your concerts, including Vegas, I’m heartbroken at your decision to perform next week. I thought you stood for love & acceptance, not hate & judgement," lamented a second.

A third quipped: "I have never removed all traces of an artist so fast from my phone."

"This is devastating no one talk to me," hit out a fourth, while a fifth slammed: "Don’t ever call yourself an LGBTQ ally again, you’re supporting the man that wants to abolish LGBTQ rights, you should be ashamed."

Another echoed: "He’s literally against everything she used to sing about."

Despite the criticism, however, the hit-maker has always maintained that she's 'honoured ' to be a part of this 'historic event'.

"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood previously amid the slander.

"I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."

Alongside Underwood, opera tenor Christopher Macchio performed the national anthem, ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’

Additionally, 'God Bless the USA' singer Lee Greenwood is also set to perform this evening.
