The world watched on as Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday (20 January).
The inauguration ceremony itself had a number of key stand-out moments, including Hilary Clinton laughing at Trump as he made one particular promise, Barron Trump being defended over his 'ear thing', and Elon Musk being accused of doing a 'Nazi salute', and, we couldn't forget Melania's massive wide-brimmed hat.
But, the second part of the day also featured a bunch of bizarre happenings including Trump's odd comments about Melania’s feet during his post-inauguration speech.

Take a look:
During the speech, Trump, who is the first person convicted of a felony to assume the presidency, shared an exchange he had with his wife during the day, saying: 'I have a First Lady who has been incredible.
"I shouldn't say this. I'm going to get hell when I say this, but her feet are absolutely aching. You know, those heels."

He continued to explain that he and Melania 'thought they were leaving' before someone came up to him and asked him to 'say hello' to some of his other fans.
According to the Republican leader, Melania said: "Darling, I love you so much, but my feet are killing me."
"I said, 'Honey, let me just see how far it is'," he continued to recall, explaining he was informed the walk was 'maybe four or 500 yards'.

"That's five football fields," Trump declared. "I said, 'Can you make it?'"
He then revealed exactly what Melania's response was to the situation: "She said, 'We're going to make it. No matter what, we're going to make it because we have to go'."
The crowd then erupted into a chorus of cheer following the president's anecdote.

Melania donned a pair of $825 navy-blue Manolo Blahnik BB suede pumps, complete with a four-inch heel and pointed toe, to the event. She paired the heels with a long, tailored navy-blue coat by the American designer, Adam Lippes.
But it was her wide-brimmed hat which was clearly the star of the ensemble, designed by Eric Javits.
"The tradition of the presidential inauguration embodies the beauty of American democracy and today we had the honour to dress our First Lady, Mrs. Melania Trump. Mrs. Trump's outfit was created by some of America's finest craftsmen and I take great pride in showing such work to the world," Lippes said in a press release.

Javits also told ABC he was 'greatly honoured and very moved by the entire experience'.
"When I was creating the hat in my hands, it was a simple hat. It was understated, it was classic," he said. "When I saw it on her head, it really transformed. The experience became very powerful. Because everything worked together.
"And of course, you know that speaks to her grace and her presence, so it was very, very strong. The visual impact is very strong of seeing her. And of course, I just feel very grateful to have been enlisted to create that for her."
