Donald Trump took a swipe at UK prime minister Keir Starmer during a live conference and everyone is making the exact same joke about it.
On Thursday (27 February), Starmer and Trump met up to discuss their 'special relationship' and announced that a 'great' trade deal between the US and UK could be agreed 'very shortly'.
He told reporters: "Today, it's my privilege to welcome the Prime Minister of a very special place, the United Kingdom, to the White House.

"Prime Minister, Starmer, you've been terrific in our discussions."
Trump then quipped: "You're a very tough negotiator. However, I'm not sure I like that, but that's okay," prompting Starmer to let out a chuckle.
Continuing, the 78-year-old Republican praised Starmer, 62, as being a 'very, very special person' adding: "The prime minister and I have gotten off to an outstanding start.

"The US and UK have a special relationship, very special, really, like no other passed down through the centuries. And we're going to keep it that way."
He concluded: "We're going to keep it very strong as it is."

Some people were quick to point out parallels with the interaction and the plot of the hit 2003 rom-com, Love Actually - specifically the storyline that sees British prime minister, played by Hugh Grant, get pushed around by the US president, played by Billy Bob Thornton, before ultimately standing up to him once and for all.

"It’s Love Actually!" one social media user quipped while a second chimed in: "This is where we needed Hugh Grant!"
Another piped up: "Exactly what I thought of!"
And a final person echoed: "I thought the exact same thing last week!"
During their meeting, Starmer presented Trump with a letter from King Charles III that contained an 'unprecedented' request telling him: "This is really special. This has never happened before. This is unprecedented.

"This is truly historic."

The letter in question was inviting Trump to the UK for a second state visit, with the first seeing the late Queen Elizabeth II host the president back in 2019.
"That's a great, great honour. And that says at Windsor - that's really something," Trump responded as he accepted the invitation from the King, making him the only elected political leader in modern times to be invited to two state visits by a British monarch.

Clearly wooed by the invite, Trump also took the time to say some nice words about Charles: "He's a beautiful man, a wonderful man - I've gotten to know him very well, actually, first term and now second term.
"We've known each other now for a little while. This is not our first meeting. He loves his country. And so, that's our common theme. He loves his country. And I love our country."
Trump added: "And we also have two countries that have gotten along for the longest period of time. Number one ally on each side. We have France, Australia, a lot of good ones, but we've had a long-time relationship, a long time, hundreds of years."
