Donald Trump sparks divide after posting AI video of him 'dumping faeces' onto protesters

The US President appeared to be mocking the 'No Kings' demonstrations that took place across the US on Saturday (18 Oct)

President Donald Trump set tongues wagging over the weekend with his controversial use of artificial intelligence technology.

Taking to Truth Social on Sunday (19 Oct), Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself flying a plane and dropping what appears to be excrement on several of the protestors below.

In the clip, the 79-year-old former businessman dons a crown as he steadies himself into a fighter jet with the words 'KING TRUMP' plastered against the side, all the while Kenny Loggins' 'Danger Zone' plays in the background, appearing to mirror scenes from the Top Gun film franchise.

Shortly after take-off, Trump opens a latch underside the plane, pouring 'liquified faeces' onto protestors who've taken to the streets in what appears to be both Chicago and New York.

It is believed the rallies being referenced in the animated clip are from the 'No Kings' protests that took place in small towns and cities across the US on Saturday (18 Oct), in what became the third mass mobilisation since Trump returned to the White House back in January.

The gatherings also marked the largest one-day demonstration in America's history, inviting over 5 million protestors.

The rally comes in response to what protesters believe is a step towards an authoritarian government by the Trump administration, with

the BBC reports that signs at the protests included 'Democracy not Monarchy', and 'The Constitution is not optional'.

The Republican party have criticised the 'No King' protests, referring to them as 'Hate America' rallies (via Sky News).

Trump has seeming made a more direct response during an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, where he insisted he's 'not a King', though his followers are 'referring to me as a king'.

Unsurprisingly, however, his latest use of AI in a bid to seemingly mock protestors hasn't gone down too well with a number of onlookers on social media.

In response to the computer-generated clip, one questioned: "Isn’t he supposed to be the president of the United States and not whatever this is???"

Another hit out: "The government has been shutdown for weeks and the economy is doing so bad and he is posting A.I. videos."

While a third said: "Truly the smallest man who ever lived."

That said, however, some right-leaning followers have praised Trump for taking a stance against demonstrators, with one person writing: "The funniest video I've seen all week. If only that was reality."

"Hilarious... these protesters are so pissed right now," another jibed.

Calling him the 'best president ever', someone else went on: "Gotta love AI and Trump's sense of humour."
