Elon Musk threatens to 'fire all politicians' after criticising Trump’s 'disgusting' bill and everyone’s asking the same question

The Elon Musk and Donald Trump ‘break-up’ has dominated headlines in the past week - and now, like the end of any turbulent ‘relationship’, it seems to be turning nasty.

The 53-year-old tech billionaire has now threatened to ‘fire all politicians’ after slamming Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ earlier this week.

Musk left his temporary Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) role on May 29, after his allocated time came to an end.

His status as a 'special government employee' meant that he could only serve for a maximum of 130 days, which would have ended around 30 May anyway.

However, it’s now looking like there was tension behind the scenes, after Musk hit out at the 78-year-old US president’s signature tax and spending bill.

The ‘big, beautiful bill,’ as the Republican leader proudly calls it, which was passed by the House Republicans in May, includes multi-trillion-dollar tax breaks and more defence spending, while also allowing the US government to borrow more money.

And it looks like it’s tipped Trump’s former right-hand man right over the edge.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (3 June), Musk raged: "I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.

"This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination."

"Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong," Musk slammed. "You know it."

In American politics, 'pork' refers to spending on projects in lawmakers' constituencies.

The fiery tweet was later followed by another, which reads: “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.” Ouch.

But, social media users are baffled to how Musk hopes to do this, considering his role within the Republican administration is over.

Others pointed out that he could be hinting that he plans to back a Democrat in time for next year, despite US presidential elections not set to take place until 2028.

Writing on Twitter, someone questioned: “How the hell is he going to fire politicians when he no longer works for Doge?”

To which another user replied: “Elon literally got Donald elected. I can't wait for him to back a Dem. Not once did he say he would be pushing for new Republicans and he is a lifelong democrat.”

A third penned: “Um, it’s Elon that’s been sent packing”.

With a fourth adding: “Does he have firing authority? Love Elon, but I think firing is out of his range….not sure.”

Someone else quipped: “Elon can say whatever he wants, but he doesn't have the power to fire any politicians.”

“Lol this dude can't fire any of them. They're elected officials. Elon can't do anything about that. The post is just bs to fire people up,” said another.

With another user chiming in with: “Elon can’t fire people who don’t work for him”.
