Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein allegedly wrote in private emails that US president Donald Trump 'knew about the girls' according to messages recently released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.

The committee disclosed three email exchanges which are dated between 2011 and 2019 between Epstein, his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and author Michael Wolff.

Trump himself did not send or receive any of the emails and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

"Oversight Democrats have obtained new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes," the committee posted Wednesday (12 November) on social media. "Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES."

In one message to Wolff dated January 31, 2019, Epstein allegedly wrote: "Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever...of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop," according to the copy shared by committee Democrats.

Another email from April 2011 shows Epstein telling Maxwell that Trump had 'spent hours' with a victim whose name was redacted.

"I want you to realise that the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump...[VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him...he has never once been mentioned," Epstein wrote.

Additionally, in a December 2015 exchange, Wolff and Epstein discussed Trump’s first presidential campaign.

"I think you should let him hang himself," Wolff wrote. "If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you valuable PR and political currency."

Wolff allegedly continued: "You can hang him in a way that potentially benefits you—or, if it looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it’s possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy who’s gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which would be outlawed in a Trump regime."

Trump has previously denied any involvement or knowledge of Epstein's sex-trafficking operation.

Epstein died by suicide in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell, meanwhile, is currently in a low-security Texas prison for her role in a sex-trafficking scheme with Epstein.

The emails in question were obtained by Democrats on the committee after they subpoenaed documents and records from Epstein’s estate earlier this year.

Tyla has reached out to the White House for comment.
