JD Vance has aloof reaction to being booed during latest public appearance

People have rushed to social media to share their reactions to the viral clip

JD Vance's latest public appearance didn't quite go according to plan.

On Thursday (13 March), the US Vice President and his wife, Usha, were met with a chorus of boos as they arrived at the Kennedy Center for a National Symphony Orchestra concert.

One clip from the event has since racked up over 1.3 million views since it was posted yesterday, with many social media users rushing to the comments to share their thoughts on Vance's response.

Responding to the boos, the 40-year-old Republican gave the crowd a sarcastic wave and a point while ironically acknowledging the shouts of 'You ruined this place!' with a smile and a wave leading one X user to claim: "And he found it amusing."

"Love how JD Vance gets booed everywhere he goes," penned another while a third chimed in: "They look like they could care less."

The ordeal comes after President Donald Trump, last month, replaced the chairman of the Kennedy Center with himself.

Additionally, he also removed 13 members of the board of trustees as well as appointing foreign policy adviser Richard Grenell as the interim leader.

"So we took over the Kennedy Center," the 78-year-old declared following the move. "We didn’t like what they were showing and various other things. We’re going to make sure that it’s good and it’s not going to be woke.

"There’s no more woke in this country."

Vance previously admitted that he wasn't aware people listened to classical music for pleasure in an interview with the New York Times back in 2016.

During the interview, he reflected on his rise through the American class system following the overnight success of his memoir titled Hillbilly Elegy published that same year.

"Elites use different words, eat different foods, listen to different music," he said before confessing. "I was astonished when I learned that people listened to classical music for pleasure - and generally occupy different worlds from America’s poor.

"Unfortunately, this can make things a little culturally awkward when you leap from one class to the other."

Vance has recently become the subject of an avalanche of memes making their rounds across social media - so much so that he's actually now responded to the viral posts.

He's clearly been made aware of all the memes of his edited face as of late, with the internet giving him an enlarged purple face like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He's also been a minion, an emo fanatic, and a child with a hat and lollipop.

Journalist Julio Rosas of The Blaze travelled with the VP and was able to share Vance’s reaction.

"I can confirm VP Vance has seen many of the memes/edits of his pictures and thinks it's a funny trend," he posted on X.
