The US vice president was brutally humbled during a public appearance in Indiana last week (7 August) after being confronted by an angry horde of critics.
Several spectators had their eyes drawn to one particularly amusing aspect of the protestations, which has since gone viral.
For those out of the loop with the Republican party's latest schedule, President Trump dispatched his right-hand man, JD Vance to the Indiana Statehouse last week.
There, the 41-year-old VP had been instructed to pitch to lawmakers, as the White House continues to apply pressure to red states to redraw their congressional maps prior to the upcoming midterm elections.

After being welcomed onto the stage to greet attendees, the VP was subjected to roars of booing, which Reddit users have since described as utterly embarrassing for the politician.
In response to footage of the cringe-worthy moment, one critic hit out: "Lmao how embarrassing."
Another noticed in the crowd: "I like how the one person clapping for him just gave up."

As we say, however, another aspect to the controversial clip has since got viewers taking, with many noticing placards being held by members of the audience which had hilarious messages inscribed onto them.
In response to one sign which red 'JD Vance ate my cat', one Reddit user jibed: "Outstanding sign choice."
Another added: "I had to pause the video to explain why I was laughing hysterically. That sign is incredible and she deserves an award. The way she's holding it with her whole chest is also 10/10."

One individual had also written a message on a placard that read: "This is why I didn't vote for you couchf**kers."
In response, one teased online: "The way I look like a lunatic trying to hold in my laughter in public after reading this."
"Get used to it JD. This is the rest of your life," a third warned the VP.

More seriously, Vance's attendance to the Republican rally is said to indicate just how much emphasis Trump is putting on the need to retain power in Congress until his term in the White House ends.
According to Politico, sending the VP is just part of the strategy the President has put into place to push Republican states to redraw maps 'everywhere where redistricting is an option'.
