Millions have been left outraged by a confession made by President Trump yesterday (26 March) after he was asked about the four US soldiers who are currently missing in Lithuania.
During a press briefing at the White House, the 78-year-old was quizzed over the four American soldiers who were declared missing during a scheduled training exercise earlier this week, after which he claimed he hadn't heard the news.
According to Reuters, the US army announced on Wednesday (26 March) that a vehicle belonging to the soldiers had been found submerged in water in a training area of the Eastern European country.

The tank was found in town of Pabradė the day prior - just six miles from the border with Russian allied Belarus.
"The M88 Hercules armoured recovery vehicle the four missing U.S. Soldiers were operating during a training exercise has been located in Lithuania," army representatives said in a statement.

A military search and rescue mission has since been ongoing.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte previously said during a press conference on a visit to Warsaw that the four soldiers had died, but that he did not have details. Another spokesperson told the publication, however, that they were not confirming the fate of the missing as of yet, and NATO issued an apology as it explained searches were still underway.
Rutte later clarified, as per The Independent: "Whilst I was speaking the news came out about four American soldiers who were killed in an incident in Lithuania.
"This is still early news so we do not know the details. This is really terrible news and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones."
Lithuanian Defence Minister Dovile Sakaliene also told press that no bodies had yet been found.

The country's president, Gitanas Nauseda, also reiterated on social media: "The search & rescue mission in Pabrade for missing US soldiers is ongoing. Until they are found — staying hopeful, standing with their families, brothers in arms, and all those out there searching."
Despite numerous political leaders attempting to remain in the know with regards to the soldiers' fate, one individual seemingly out of the loop is Donald Trump.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, he was asked if he'd been briefed on the case, to which he candidly replied: "No, I haven't."

Unsurprisingly, the admission has since sparked mass astonishment across social media.
Sharing a clip from the briefing, one frustrated spectator slammed the Republican leader: "NATO says they were found dead, though the U.S. military has yet to confirm it. Yet Donald Trump, the commander-in-chief, claims he knows nothing. Appalling."
Another noted: "Didn’t even seem a bit concerned! Bro just shrugged it off for the next question right away."
"So Trump didn't know about the soldiers ... and they didn't tell him about the Signal chat ... who's really running the White House?" a third asked on Twitter.

Another slammed: "How has SecDef Hegseth not briefed POTUS on the missing U.S. soldiers in Lithuania? This has been in the public domain for 8+ hours."
"His lack of knowledge or care about this situation is another major scandal," a fifth criticised Trump.
