Woman who was nine-months pregnant furious at ‘assuming’ note left on her car by angry neighbour

Woman who was nine-months pregnant furious at ‘assuming’ note left on her car by angry neighbour

The stranger had left a foul-mouthed note on her car 'assuming' she was in the wrong

Parking drama really does seem to bring out the worst in people, doesn’t it? Whether it’s someone swooping in for the spot you were clearly about to reverse into or lazily straddling two bays so there’s no space for you, it really can be infuriating.

One woman was recently left fuming after someone else assumed she was in the wrong and really decided to let her know.

The only thing is... well, we all know what happens when you assume.

Taking to Reddit, the woman explained how she was ‘almost 9 months pregnant’ and ‘waddling’ around slowly during snowy conditions.

“I’ve never posted here before but by golly I just felt compelled tonight,” she wrote.

“Someone left a very unkind and assuming note on my car today. I came home this afternoon to find a spot on the street right in front of my building.”

The Reddit user - who lives in Winnipeg, in Manitoba, Canada - user explained how the specific spot on the pavement had been cleared, and that she felt ‘grateful’ as she was about to pop.

However, despite feeling ‘pretty deserving of accessible access’, especially because she was also going through other ‘health issues’ at the time.

When she went back out to leave the house, she started driving off, only to notice a ‘hand written note’ on her dashboard.

"I stopped, grabbed it, read it and then felt pretty darn upset,” the woman continued.

“The note assumes I don’t deserve accessibility, and assumes there was other room on the street when I parked.

“There is no loading zone in front of my building and I did not break any laws by parking there.

“They also call me a b***h which makes me wonder if I was watched? Which is even creepier.

“And yes - having a car is a privilege but getting a lucky spot on the street, in front of my domicile, doesn’t make me overprivileged.”

Indeed, in the foul-mouthed rant, the stranger had slammed the pregnant woman for using the cleared space.

They raged: “Hey bud! What the f**k is wrong with you. Why would you park in the only spot cleared of snow for wheelchair access, couriers, and general access.

“The whole street is available but your overprivileged b***h a*s parks here.”

Wow.

The Redditor added in her post that there’s a disabled spot behind her building that’s ‘always empty’, meaning someone in a wheelchair would have been able to use that space if they needed.

“So, if you wrote this note - please do me a favour and fall on the ice and hurt yourself,” she said.

“And stop assuming you know what someone else needs or deserves. Or go ahead and fill out the paperwork to make it a loading zone.

“I follow street and societal rules and would oblige. So go ahead and make your dream of a special parking spot to convenience only YOU, come true, because if you were actually arguing for people who deserve accessibility then you’d be arguing FOR ME.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many people were on her side, agreeing that she’d done absolutely nothing wrong.

“Some people can’t seem to understand that the world doesn’t revolve around them, and someone else may have been just as deserving of a spot in front of the building,” one commented.

“There is no handicap sign so they can’t claim that it has anything to do with wheel chair access.

“Hell you could not be pregnant and decide to park there and there’s nothing wrong with that. You saw a good spot and took it.”

Someone else wrote: “This makes my blood boil. No offence, but it doesn’t matter to me that you are pregnant - it’s public parking. They can go f**k themselves.”

A third said: “Apparently, this person thinks that they are the parking police, and not just for illegal parking. What a jerk.”

They added: “Also, as a disabled person who had a kid before I became disabled, take the parking spot that is open and legal. Being almost 9 months pregnant when it is icy is a special kind of hell.”
