Princess Beatrice’s family welcomed a new arrival into the fold last week, with an adorable snap showing newborn Athena curled up in a pink blanket.
She was born several weeks early, but Buckingham Palace confirmed she had been delivered safely.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on palace January 22 at 12.57pm, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London,” the statement said.

“The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.
“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Athena is the younger sister to Beatrice and husband Edoardo’s first daughter, Sienna, who was born back in 2021.

The two girls also have an older stepbrother – Edoardo's son Christopher Woolf (or ‘Wolfie’ to his family) from his previous marriage to Dara Huang.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar (via PEOPLE), architect Dara explained how she and her ex manage to co-parent Wolfie in a positive way.
In fact, she sees their set-up as a win-win all round.
"Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, 'The more, the merrier,' " she said. "I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him — because it didn’t have to be so easy."

Dara added: "It's all about your point of view. I don't understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn't make any sense. It’s about creating a happy home and lifestyle."
Thankfully, it sounds like the three have got it nailed, with Dara also sharing her best wishes as her ex-husband tied the knot with Beatrice in 2020.
She said in a statement at the time: "I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families."

Fast-forward to 2025 and two kids later, it seems as though Edoardo and his recently-expanded family couldn't be happier.
Posting about baby Athena on Instagram, he gushed: "We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her.
"Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena."
Edoardo went on to thank the staff who looked after his wife, writing: "A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time.”
