Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s text message argument revealed to public

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s text message argument revealed to public

The argument stemmed from an ill-fitting dress before Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding

The text conversation between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle which sparked an infamous argument has been revealed.

We all remember the famous Oprah interview and the tidbits of details that came out after Prince Harry and Meghan ceased being active members of the Royal Family in 2020.

However, the revelation that Meghan allegedly made Kate cry was quite a shock indeed.

In the infamous interview, Meghan insisted it was the other way around and said: "I don't think it's fair to her to get into the details, because she apologized. And I've forgiven her."

Without much context to go off, many people chose to create their own narratives, and finally, we were told what really went down and it was settled once and for all.

Prince Harry opened up about the drama that surrounded his and Meghan's wedding day in 2018 as he made claims in his bombshell 2023 memoir, Spare.

This book, which came out in 2023, directly responded to the tabloid reports that Meghan allegedly made Kate cry in the lead up to the big day, where the father-of-two claimed that his wife-to-be and sister-in-law had a falling out over bridesmaid dresses, particularly for Kate's second-eldest, Princess Charlotte.

As Kate and William's daughter, Charlotte was supposed to be part of the bridal party, however, Harry alleged that they argued over the fit of the dress, with Kate apparently contacting Meghan just four days before the wedding to say that the 'French Couture' dresses needed remaking.

He then claimed that the Princess of Wales became frustrated because Meghan didn't get back to her immediately and then it snowballed from there.

"Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away," wrote Harry. "Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by."

"This wasn't sufficient," he added.

At the time, Meghan's father Thomas Markle Snr had to undergo heart surgery and was unable to attend the wedding, which left the Duchess of Sussex upset and stressed.

Harry says that Kate then complained to his fiancé: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home."

Meghan allegedly replied: "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?"

That’s when Kate apparently said back: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."

Harry wrote in his book: "Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now with her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!"

Meghan supposedly quipped back: "Yes, Kate, I know... "

Harry then revealed that Meghan told Kate: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day," to which Kate said back: "Fine."

Afterwards, Harry says he found Meghan in tears and 'sobbing on the floor' due to the situation.

However, Kate apparently came round with a bouquet of flowers and a card to apologise to Meghan the very next day.

At the time, the Royal Family didn't comment on the allegations in Spare.
