Kate Middleton has revealed why she and her family have decided to move from London.
The Princess of Wales was snapped attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade on 17 March, and while she was there, she spoke to soldiers from the Irish Guards.
As the 43-year-old is the ceremonial Colonel of the British Army regiment, she participated in the parade at the Wellington Barracks in London.

While many people must think that she must live a stone’s throw away from the location as she and her family have resided in London for years, they’d be wrong.

In fact, the Princess, Prince William, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, have all moved to Windsor instead.
They moved in 2022, and up until now, nobody knew why they decided to make the move.

While speaking with guardsmen, Kate was asked where she and her family lived these days, and she replied: "We are in Windsor at the moment.”
The reason? She wanted some scenery.
She said: "We were in London but moved there for more green space."
She then added: "It’s close enough to London, not too far away."

The family of five moved from London to Windsor in the summer of 2022 after having previously living at Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.
Now, they live an hour west from their former home at Adelaide Cottage.
This historic home is sat on the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park within the 650-acre Home Park which is privately run by the Crown Estate.

Just half a mile from Windsor Castle (the late Queen Elizabeth's home), in the bibliography titled Catherine, Princess of Wales, in 2024, Robert Jobson wrote that Kate believed it important for William to be close to his grandmother as she grew older.
Sadly, the Queen died in September 2022, just weeks after the couple moved to be near her.
"Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months, when he was required to support both her and his father. It made a real difference," Jobson wrote. "They were in regular contact, seeing each other in person and speaking on the phone several times a week, bringing them even closer."
After the news broke that Kate had been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, she turned to nature to find solace and filmed her announcement video in the garden of Windsor Castle beneath a tree.

Kate also recorded her September 9 announcement that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment in the outdoors in Norfolk, near their their country house, Anmer Hall.
On January 14, Kate mentioned that she was uplifted by sunshine during her visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital.
She said, as per the Daily Mail: "I really felt like I needed to get the sun. You need loads of water and loads of sunlight.”
Let’s be honest, we’re all a little happier when the sun is shining and we’re surrounding by nature, so it’s no surprise that the Royal feels the same.
