Prince Harry revealed King Charles' emotional plea to his sons during the funeral of Prince Phillip.

The royals have seen no end of drama over the last decade, alongside the tragic loss of the Queen and her husband, Prince Phillip.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to leave their royal duties behind in January 2020, to make a new life for themselves with their children over in America.

The rift between the brothers and their father is no secret, especially since the release of Harry's tell-all book, Spare.

He wrote: "It all happened so fast. So very fast.

"He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.

"I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.

"I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

The book’s title comes from an old saying in royal circles, that the first son is an heir to the throne, which comes with power and fortune, and therefore the second son is a spare.

But it seems as though King Charles has warned his boys of the effects their relationship breakdown is having on him.

In Spare, Harry recounts Prince Phillip's funeral, which he flew over from America to attend.

He wrote about a conversation that the three had at Frogmore House, in which Charles pleaded: "Please, boys – don’t make my final years a misery."

Harry added: "His voice sounded raspy, fragile. It sounded, if I’m being honest, old."

Despite the desperate plea, any possible reconciliation between the pair has not been made public.

After the release of Harry's book, a source told US Weekly that William 'has made no effort to speak to Harry'.

They added: "[William] feels that Harry is all smoke and mirrors and is not to be trusted. He’s trying to move on with his life."

The source said that the heir to the throne had felt a massive 'breach of trust' by Harry detailing private conversations in his book.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently purchased a property in Portugal, which former royal butler, Grant Harrold, believes could be the start of a reconciliation.

Reports claim that the pair have splurged on a $4.7 million purchase, to live in one of 300 soon-to-be-constructed residences at the 722-acre CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.
