King Charles gives Prince Andrew deadline as he’s pushed closer to controversial exit

A royal expert thinks King Charles is sending a clear message to Prince Andrew

In what has been described as a 'radical move', King Charles has given Prince Andrew an impending deadline and seemingly made his feelings about the controversial Royal clear.

The Duke of York stepped down from public duties in back in May 2020 amid the controversy surrounding his years of friendship with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

As a result, Andrew was stripped of his royal and military titles.

Andrew also lost publicly-funded police protection back in 2022 and his private security team was funded by Charles.

But now, it's been reported that the monarch is set to scrap the private security team at his Windsor home, Royal Lodge.

A source told the Sun on Sunday: "Everyone is speculating this means the Duke will have to leave the Royal Lodge because what other reason could there be to take his security away?

"They are all working the final weeks of their contract till the end of October. It’s not thought anyone is being lined up to replace them. It isn’t a secret that the King wants him out."

Former BBC royal reporter, Michael Cole, added to GB News: "This is a radical move by His Majesty.

"The Royal Lodge is a Georgian House that is three storeys high and set in the middle of Windsor Great Park, surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens.

"Prince Andrew still lives there and strangely enough his ex-wife also lives there."

He added: "The King wants his younger brother to move to Frogmore Cottage, which was done up at great expense for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but they decided that Canada and then America were more homely for them.

"It's a problem because Prince Andrew has a lease. He has a 75-year repairing lease, which means he has to look after the place.

"Now The King can't move him out legally, but he's letting his feelings know by removing his security.

"He's let the security people who provide the security for Royal Lodge know that their contract will not be renewed when it expires.

"Now Prince Andrew is going to look at this [in a] very, very unhappy way."

Earlier this year, a number of legal papers detailed how Epstein’s former housekeeper, Juan Alessi, claimed the duke had daily massages when he spent 'weeks' at the paedophile financier’s Florida home.

Alessi, who worked at Epstein’s Palm Beach residence, said the duke was friends with Epstein and the now-convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Prince Andrew was previously accused of sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre three times when she was 17.

He strenuously denies the claims and in 2022 paid millions to Virginia to settle a civil case out of court, saying he never met her.

The Metropolitan Police said no new investigation has been launched.
