Meghan Markle has sent a rare message to the public following Prince Harry’s statement on divorce rumours.

Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex was forced to address the divorce speculation, which has been rife in recent weeks, at the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit when asked by NYT columnist, Andrew Ross Sorkin, about his relationship.

Sorkin said: "I Google News-ed you, and there were people fascinated by everything you’re doing, all the time. They’re fascinated by Meghan is in California right now, and you’re here."

He added: "And there’s articles left and right about, you know, 'Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren’t you doing them together?"

Harry replied with a laugh: "Because you invited me, you should have known!"

He also addressed the intense speculation that's surrounded his family over the years, continuing: "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?"

Elsewhere in the chat, Harry opened up about what his 'biggest weakness' was.

He shared: "One of my biggest weaknesses is feeling helpless."

Harry also added that what concerned him the most was 'worrying that would happen to me, or to my wife, or to my kids', referencing his mother's 1997 death in Paris as paparazzi chased her car through the French city.

Explaining his decision to stay in the US, he told Sorkin: "I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here."

He added that his American life, free of royal responsibilities, feels 'as though it’s the life my mum wanted' for him.

Since then, the Duchess of Sussex sent over some Christmas cheer across the pond as patron of Smart Works - a UK charity that 'exists to give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives' - as they hosted their first carol service in London.

"Tonight promises to be a truly magical celebration, filled with special guests and performers, and most importantly, the shared spirit of community that defines Smart Works."

The message continued: "Together we gather to honour the work and dedication of this remarkable organisation, which continues to empower women across the UK through coaching, dressing and instilling confidence on their journey to employment.

"Thank you for giving your support by being here in St Marylebone Parish Church, under the beautiful haze of Christmas wreaths and candlelight."

She added: "In a year where the landscape for women in the workplace has continued to shift, Smart Works has stood as a steadfast source of encouragement. Their service is more than rediscovering employment, it is rediscovering empowerment.

"As Smart Works continues to uplift the community, I hope you will continue to support them.

"I hope you enjoy the festivities, and, from my family to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas."
