Suits star’s brutal response when asked why Meghan Markle didn’t return for reunion

The actress didn't hold back

A Suits co-star gave an honest response when asked why Meghan Markle wasn't at their reunion.

If you thought Suits was the last time you would see Meghan Markle on our TV screens - you were wrong.

Channel 5 are set to air a brand-new documentary this Sunday (September 29) all about the life of the Duchess.

Psychologists and experts in branding have tried to decode her public appearances over the years, including bombshell interviews and outfit choices.

Meghan Markle: Inside the Mind of a Duchess aims to explore what shaped her into the woman she is today.

Netflix's hit drama Suits was a large part of her life, after playing the character of Rachel Zane for seven seasons of the show.

The law programme aired between 2011-2019, but the cast had a reunion earlier this year at the Golden Globe awards.

Many noted that Meghan wasn't in attendance, which didn't exactly come as a shock given everything that has happened since she left the show.

The star announced that it was the end of Rachel Zane before she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017.

Reporter Marc Malkin cheekily asked the cast at the prestigious awards show why Meghan wasn't in attendance.

He said: "Who texted Meghan and said 'you've got to come to the Golden Globes!'"

Gina Torres, who played Jessica Pearson in the show, replied: "We don’t have her number.

"We just don’t."

That's some brutal honesty right there.

Despite not making an appearance, the actress added: "She'll see, she'll watch. "She'll be happy that we're here."

Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, shared more about the casts' texting habits.

He added: "Mostly, I’m just trying to get Gabriel to respond.

"Honestly, he’s slow on the text and he has like six different numbers now because he lives in England.

"So, we’re just trying to find out which number works."

But it wasn't the only time the Royal Family was mentioned at the ceremony.

Jo Koy's controversial opening monologue also took a dig at the family.

He said: "Succession has nine nominations.

"Just a great series about a rich, white, dysfunctional family, all scheming... oh, wait, that's The Crown. I'm sorry."

He took a swipe at Harry and Meghan later on in the night, adding: "Harry and Meghan Markle got paid millions for doing absolutely nothing.

"And that's just by Netflix."

Ouch!
